i've been spammed!

my yahoo! email is almost dead to me. i checked my account this morning, and there were over 30 messages in my inbox. maybe 3 of them were non-spam. that's crazy. i may be switching to my never used gmail account soon.

gah. stupid spammers.

life, pt. 2

wow. soooooo much going on. so much going on that i'm not even going to get into it. i'm so stressed out that all i seem to do when i'm home is sleep, eat, and lay in bed with the laptop on my lap.

ugh. life is never going to be the same.

my new project

so, thanks to ehiwv, i have found an awesome new project. project 365. the idea is to take a picture of your life every day for 365 days. someone new that you've just met, someone you already know and love, yourself, something that made you smile, something you decided to try that was new.

today is a good day to start. october 1st.

here's to my new journey :)

open letter...

dear VS client (especially the one's who shop for pink panties),

must you really make a mess of my panty bar? when you walk up, it is immaculate. it is possible to pull out a pair of panties, or even search for your size, without making a total mess. i can show you how. it isn't difficult. and please, please, PLEASE do not stand right next to me, giggling and saying apologetically, "i'm trying not to make a complete mess, tee hee!" all the while tearing up my panties. no. you're not trying. you're only saying that because i'm standing right next to you.

i don't come over to your house and make a mess, do i? no. nor would i ever. please don't do the same at mine.

thank you,
disgruntled VS employee

LIFE

does anyone ever get overwhelmed with life? i do. all of the time. hubs and i...we're not doing so well. no, not in that way. as far as being married, we're fine. but, we're struggling. we have a lot of debt. credit card payments are coming out of our asses. my credit is terrible. i made a lot of bad decisions years ago when i was with a guy, and i lived way outside of my means. we're doing a lot of that now...living outside our means. and that isn't even saying much. we don't buy extravagant things (except for hubs bringing home an xbox the other day...still not happy about that one)...we rent...we bought a new car this year, but because it was a neccessity (we only had one)...but yet, we're still barely above the water. we both work hard, but since neither of us are college graduates, we don't make nearly enough. technically, we are barely, if at all, above the poverty level. i don't know what to do to pull us out of this.

sorry for the downcast feeling in tonight's post, i just had to get some things off my shoulders. we'll get through this right? eventually we'll be able to afford to live...in our own home with children...right?

anyone else ever felt like they were in a hole, and just couldn't climb out?

fashion show...POSTPONED.

so...i started dressing max up in his outfits for his fashion show today...and he wasn't cooperating. i got his first outfit on him (a red polo by old navy), and he just wouldn't sit still for pictures. i'm going to try again later when hubs can help me (he's busy with his xbox).

didn't do much in the area of retail therapy today. we traded in a bunch of old games that we don't play anymore at gamestop for some credit. i got a new ds game:

what can i say...i'm a nerd. i love to solve mysteries, and i'm not that great at video games in general, so i stick to the ones i can play. i'm obsessed with the nancy drew games on the pc. i saw this, and i was in love.

i also picked up some things at babies r us for my niece's (aubrey) baptism on sunday. i got just a few small things...

got her some orange pumpkin socks and a "baby's first halloween" fuzzy rattle as well.

we went to one of my favorite restaurants for dinner...olive garden. the never ending pasta bowl is going on, and i can never stay away. although, i never finish more than one serving. i had the garlic asiago alfredo with penne. hubs had three cheese marinara with angel hair. it was delicious.

that is all...i'm off to watch season one of the tudors on dvd. i've been obsessed with the tudor dynasty lately...

stupid sundays...

today reminded me why i haven't worked a sunday in months. but oh yeah, that's right...i'm trying to get a promotion, so i'm working whenever they need me in the hopes that it makes me look good. gah. today was my sixth day in row...and that followed a week in which i worked ten days in a row. it's been a crazy two weeks, and i've never been as happy to have a day off tomorrow. but enough about work.

i am in dire need of a massage. a nice, soothing, relaxing massage. get all the kinks in my neck worked out. my neck is very kinky. and not in a good way.

did i tell you guys that i'm going for a promotion at work? in the first paragraph of this blog? i did? huh. but yeah, i'm going for a promotion. granted, it's only a seasonal promotion, but it gets my foot in the door for the future. my interview is friday. i'm nervous and excited at the same time. my plan is to be pessimistic (who, me?), so if i don't get it, i won't be too disappointed. keep your fingers and toes crossed for me.

today's blog was going to be a max fashion show. i know, i know. you're disappointed that you didn't get to see me torture my dog in little people clothes. by the time i finally got home from the store tonight, i was a tad bit too tired to dress him up in multiple outfits and take pictures. plus, some of my stories premiered tonight (yay desperate housewives and brothers & sisters!), and i had three dvr'd episodes of army wives to catch up on. important stuff. have no fear though, the fashion show will happen tomorrow. you'll love it. my dog is a cutie. no bias here at all.

also planning some retail therapy tomorrow with the hubs. he owes me. he came home with an xbox 360 the other night without telling me. after we mutually decided two nights before that we didn't need one. yeah, there's been some drama in our house. i'm letting it go though. i can't stay mad at him. i'll share the goods with y'all tomorrow!

my fave fall scent...

i've been going a little nuts lately, trying to make my house smell like fall. here are a few things i've picked up that i LOVE...

the sweet cinnamon pumpkin wallflower from B&BW is in our upstairs bathroom, and you can almost smell it though the whole house! i haven't burned the pumpkin pie candle from yankee yet, and the pomegranite cider candle will be saved for closer to christmastime.
hooray for B&BW being in the limited brands family, so i get my employee discount there!

holy cow!

i'm entering the world of the blogosphere! a few warnings to start us out:

  • i'm boring.
  • i don't use capital letters.
  • i type the way i speak...so i tend to type a lot of run-on sentences. mrs. cocanougher would NOT be happy.
  • i'm very opinionated, especially when it comes to this year's presidential election. i'll try not to stir up too many pots. although, this is my blog. i should be allowed to say what i want.
  • i talk about my dog...a lot.

if you can get past the shortcomings i've listed above, welcome! keep in mind though, that there are many more in addition to those i've informed you of. we'll encounter them together :)

and now...on to the blog!

it's nearing 11 pm on friday night. i just finished watching the presidential debate on my laptop. as joe biden like to say, it was a whole lot of "more of the same." i pretty much expected that. it's so far in the game though, i know most people have already made their political decisions. i know i have. it's interesting to see how they play off of eachother though. next week will be the vp debate. that should be interesting to say the least.

work today was, you know, the same as usual. for anyone who doesn't know (or can't deduce from the title of this fabulous blog), i work in the wonderful land of victoria's secret. i LOVE my job. it's my happy place (for the most part). i spend my days looking at boobs, straightening panties, and trying to talk people in to opening credit cards (because that's a GREAT idea in our amazing economic condition, right?).

and since i have a new medium to harass people on behalf of my philanthropic endeavors, let us commence the educational portion of today's blog. diabetes. it pretty much sucks. it's the leading cause of heart disease and stroke. next month, i will be participating in the step out walk for diabetes, an event from the lovely people at the american diabetes foundation. the money raised from this event will go toward funding diabetes research that is oh so important. so skip your double cheeseburger or mcchicken and give $1. or skip your grande iced white chocolate mocha and give $5. or give more. i won't turn anything down. go here to find out more about our great cause. a little philanthropy never hurt anybody.
